AŽD Praha hits the mark again in Turkey

The company AŽD Praha has signed the contract with the industrial concern Bombardier and it will deliver 500 wayside elements for 261 railway level crossings for the construction of railway line Irmak - Zonguldak in Turkey in the value of 30 million crowns. The new built line is an important join of the capital Ankara with Black Sea port Zonguldak.

AŽD Praha succeeded at negotiation with the company Bombardier, a supplier of signaling equipment for Irmak-Zonguldak project tendered by the Turkish Sate Railways (TCDD), and it will participate in the supplies of wayside elements of level crossing equipment. The project includes manufacture and delivery of 302 pieces of independent level crossing roadside warning lights, 68 pieces of barrier drive units with warning light and other elements in accordance with specific requirements for design and function defined by the Turkish customer.

„Our company had to adapt to demands for extremely short delivery terms and had to conform to specific requirements of the project” says the Director of Foreign Marketing and Trade of AŽD Praha Ing. Petr Žatecký and adds: “The Turkish market is very exacting and we are glad that we have succeeded with our own technical solution meeting the highest European demands for safety of railway operation.”

The production and testing of individual components have already started. The whole delivery is divided into several parts while 30% should be delivered before the end of the year 2013.

The Czech company AŽD Praha has wide experience with the Turkish market. For example, it delivered and installed the signaling and telecommunication equipment for the railway line Tekirdag – Muratli and renovated the transport remote control of the Cerkezkoy Control Centre in Turkey amounting to 5.3 million Euros.
