AŽD Praha will deliver to Macedonia signaling equipment for more than 3 million Euros

Czech company AŽD Praha signed contract for work amounting to EUR 3.1 million for delivery and installation of signaling equipment EUR for railway corridor Kumanovo- Beljakovce, Macedonia.

In the tender, the call for which was issued by Macedonian railway infrastructure manager in 2013, the Czech company participated as one of contractors with German H.F. Wiebe GmbH & Co KG, and Italian MerMec S.pa.

Work of AŽD Praha includes design, production, delivery, installation, testing and putting into operation of station and railway signaling equipment for three railway stations on 31 km railway line and system of their remote control.

“It is rather small contract but of great strategic importance. It is historically the first application of fully electronic signaling equipment in Macedonia and so we cannot afford any hesitation,” says the Foreign Trade and Marketing Manager of AŽD Praha, Ing. Petr Žatecký and ads: “Countries of former Yugoslavia belong to our priority markets, on which we concentrate very much and in which we invest extensively. Besides this project in Macedonia AŽD Praha implements at present for example prestige project of reconstruction of main railway station in Belgrade in Serbia. We expect that both these projects will strengthen and consolidate our position on markets in the countries of former Yugoslavia.”

Work on the project started already in autumn 2014, before signing the contract, however the project gets fully underway at the beginning of 2015 and should be completed in September 2016.
